The Department of Medical Education, established in September 2001, is a professional organization dedicated to enhancing educational excellence and advancing expertise in medical education at the Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine. The department actively engages in education, research, and service, with a focus on student-centered learning, faculty development, and the sustainable advancement of medical education.

Key focus areas include:

Supporting holistic student growth through diverse curricula such as the self-management portfolios, integrated arts and physical education, and elective advanced clerkships.

Improving curriculum quality through evaluation and consultation on curriculum design and implementation, emphasizing competency-based education.

Facilitating self-understanding and career exploration through learning support programs, personality and psychological assessments, CELL programs, and faculty advisory guidance.

Enhancing teaching methods and faculty competencies through program planning and instructional consulting at the SLICE Faculty Development Center.

Conducting research on teaching- learning strategies based on educational psychology, portfolio assessment systems, and educational outcome tracking.

The department also contributes to the advancement of medical education through participation in internal academic committees and collaboration with major external organizations, including the Korean Society of Medical Education, the Korean Association of Medical Colleges (KAMC), the Korea Institute of Medical Education and Evaluation, and the Korea Health Personnel Licensing Examination Institute.
