The Department of Biochemistry at Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine was established in 1954, coinciding with the founding of the university, and has played a central role in education and research in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. Currently, seven faculty members provide foundational medical education through courses in biochemistry and molecular and cellular medicine. The department actively conducts research in diverse areas, including gene function analysis, genome-based precision medicine, and the molecular mechanisms of aging, inflammation, and metabolic diseases, thereby contributing to the advancement of medical science.
