About Catholic Institute for Applied Anatomy

The Catholic Institute for Applied Anatomy was established in October 1999 to promote the rational use of donated cadavers and to advance both basic and clinical medical sciences through anatomical education and cadaver-related research. The Institute provides practical anatomy education for undergraduate students at the Catholic University of Korea College of Medicine, offers clinical and surgical anatomy training for physicians at affiliated hospitals, and manages the preparation and preservation of cadaver specimens. It also organizes domestic and international seminars and workshops on basic and clinical medicine, conducts research in clinical and surgical anatomy using donated cadavers, and carries out studies in physical and forensic anthropology. Through these activities, the Institute collaborates with clinicians on disease-related research using donated cadavers, ultimately contributing to the advancement of medical science and the eradication of diseases.
