About Advanced Institute for Advanced Fusion Medical Device Development
The Advanced Institute for Advanced Fusion Medical Device Development leads innovation in the field of clinical laboratory medicine, actively contributing to the research and industrial development of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical devices through IVD device development, clinical trials, and regulatory policy research. Major research areas include clinical microbiology, diagnostic immunology, clinical chemistry, and transfusion medicine. The Institute focuses on biomarker discovery and the validation of their clinical utility, evaluation of IVD device performance and safety, and development of rapid point-of-care diagnostic systems.
Research efforts encompass mechanisms of microbial antibiotic resistance, various biochemical biomarkers including those for dementia, immune disease diagnostics, organ transplantation, infection immunology, and autoimmune disease. The lab conducts diverse R&D studies on biomarker development in diagnostic immunology, including CMV, BK virus, SARS-CoV-2, NK cell mechanisms, and transplant rejection immunology. With over 100 publications, the Institute demonstrates outstanding research achievements.
Additionally, through the establishment of clinical trial networks, expert consultation, adoption of new technologies, and international performance evaluations, the Institute strengthens the competitiveness of the domestic and global IVD industry.
