The department was launched as part of St. Marys Hospital on Songsin Medical School establishment and was put into todays organization in May 1957.
The department is composed of pancreas, colon rectum, breast thyroid surgery, gastrointestinal, vascular graft surgery, pediatric branch, and clinical and basic research in various areas are being actively carried out.
