Forensic Medicine Department
The Department of Forensic Medicine was established in September 1999.
In June 2008, part of the judicial autopsies are conducted under the national agreement between Catholic University, National Forensic Service, and the National Police Agency.
Our lectures focus mainly on the acquisition of the basic knowledge required for a medical approach to death-related cases including autopsy, damages due to postmortem changes, suffocation, intoxication, natural death, and so forth.
Also acquire basic knowledge of the judicial autopsy working through the selective practice.
The main research topics and research activities are statistical and analytical research of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), analytical research of sudden death of pulmonary thromboembolism, and operation of Catholic University of local medical examiner’s office in National Forensic Service.
