Department of Rehabilitation Medicine was established in 1960.
Rehabilitation medicine means "medicine that allows to act again."
Department of Rehabilitation Medicine also perform general diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury and carrying out special method to assess the ability of the activity level of patients for diagnostic function test (physical feelings, trouble diagnosis), and conducting rehabilitation to improve insufficient function.

Major medical and research fields are neurological muscle disorders, musculoskeletal disorders, pediatric rehabilitation, prosthetic and orthosis prescription, trouble diagnosis and/or physical feelings, limbs lymphatic edema, and neuralgia.
