Pharmacology

Pharmacology Department was established in 1956.
Pharmacology is the study of how chemicals are influenced in vivo.
These chemicals include both biological substance such as hormones or neurotransmitters as well as drugs or toxins administered to obtain a therapeutic effect.
Therefore Pharmacology is dealing with a very wide range such as basic science, chemistry and also toxicology.
However, in general, pharmacology can be divided into pharmacodynamics of chemicals to study the pharmacological effects of chemicals and pharmacokinetics to study the dynamics of the pharmacokinetics.

The department has been carrying out the research on both pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics fields.
The department conducts research into basic pharmacokinetic characterization, including the absorption, distribution, and the metabolization of drugs in healthy groups and various patient groups; into pharmacogenomics to elucidate the influence of genetic factors on the pharmacokinetic profile and into pharmacodynamics to identify the pathological and molecular biological mechanisms of diseases based on studies of drugs cell physiological and molecular biological mechanism.
Notably, our research in the areas of neuropharmacology and pharmacogenomics has led to major achievements.
