DEPARTMENT
Parasitology Department was established in 1963.
The department is conducting research to identify the infection mechanism of Toxoplasma gondii, which is responsible for toxoplasmosis followed by systemic infection in warm-blooded animals including humans.
We are also investigating the function of proteins secreted by toxoplasma, the process by which similar protozoa invade host cells, and their parasitic life cycle to elucidate the mechanism by which toxoplasma invades host cells.
